AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that defies usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The narrative features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret cult.
The adventure centers on "bizarre tests and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Changes
The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an unique katana alongside numerous objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Content
This release also adds the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
